How You Can Help

There are many ways you can help The Orphan Society of America. Below you will find OSA’s giving options. You also can help OSA by volunteering your time or helping to advocate for orphans of violence on the local, state, and national levels.

OSA Postsecondary Scholarship Program
Individuals and companies have the opportunity through OSA to name and fund their own postsecondary scholarships for orphans of violence. The determination of the scholarships specifics is decided by the donor in consultation with the OSA staff. The OSA individual and company sponsors will be very involved in selecting recipients.

OSA Sponsor an Orphan Scholar Program
The OSA Sponsor an Orphan Scholar Program enables individuals to provide a life-changing gift to an individual whose parent(s) died spontaneously and unnaturally as a result of homicide, suicide, war, disaster and sudden death accidents.

To participate in this program, we ask that you commit to contribute or raise the funds necessary for a full two- or four-year scholarship, including tuition, room and board, and miscellaneous expenses (i.e. books) for an orphan of violence.

Financial Relief Program
OSA has a financial relief program to provide funding for orphans of violence to help support their success in the short- and long-term. We are always looking for donors to contribute to this meaningful initiative.

Third-Party Events
Businesses, clubs, individuals, and organizations can host events and fundraisers to benefit OSA. Simply set up your online fundraising page by going to any one of a number of online fundraising platforms (i.e. DonateNow/Network for Good, FirstGiving, Razoo, etc.) and ask your friends, family, and others to support you in your efforts.

Please let the OSA staff know about your event by e-mailing info@theorphansociety.org.

Matching Gifts
Double your impact on the lives of orphans of violence. Many employers sponsor “matching gifts” programs for charitable gifts made by their employees.  Check with your organization’s human resources department to see whether a “matching gifts” program exists, and ask for the matching form. Many organizations have a minimum or maximum level for individual matches for each employee.

Complete the form and mail payment to: The Orphan Society of America, 15 Waterloo Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312.

Memorial/Tribute Contributions
Remember someone you love by making a contribution to OSA. We will send a letter of acknowledgement at the time of the contribution.

Planned Giving
By including OSA as a beneficiary to your estate, you can turn your legacy into a dream come true for an orphan of violence. Consider a planned gift to OSA to ensure the continued success of our programs.

If you are interested in any of the giving opportunities above — or an unrestricted gift to help with general operating expenses and other areas of financial need in the organization — please contact Wendy Belzer Litzke, executive director, at tarah@theorphansociety.org or simply click on the Donate Now link.
